“Oh look, perfect, yes!”
Is yelled out behind me in a very high pitch, along with a tiny shopping basket dropped to the ground.
“Let’s get this instead…Oh please? ”
I turn around to see a little boy and his mom in the check-out aisle behind me at the craft store. She is squatting down to look and pick up all the items he’s dropped in the excitement. I am frankly curious too. He sees me staring at the vice grip he’s got happening, he is thrilled to let me know “There are more!” and points to the shelf where all “The Perfect Man” chocolate figures are lined up. He is so genuinely happy that this exists. He seems worried I might miss my chance, “You should get one, he’s perfect.”
Out of all the holiday light up options, noise making situations, every possible candy on earth he’s decided upon “The Perfect Man” and holds this single item close to his chest patiently waiting to check out.
Listen, I GET IT. We have all been there.
